Many health conditions can be attributed to age. During these “golden years”, our team will help you and your dog to enjoy them as happy and healthy as possible.

When is a dog considered a senior pet?

It may come as a surprise, but for most dogs, 7 years of age is considered senior. As with people at age 40, dog’s bodies start to change about midway through life.

How should I care for my senior dog? (example: schedule regular check-ups, exercise, special diet, etc.)

For every dog, annual exams are always the best first step in health care. During that exam, our veterinarians will discuss the best plan for your senior pet. This may include diet changes, blood testing, blood pressure evaluations, or twice a year exams.
